Location, location..: If the hip pain is in your groin, then it may be caused by sot tissue impingement in the hip, but if combined with knee pain and no spinal pathology is present it may represent tight illio-tibial band. The structure runs from your hips to the outer part of your knees. Treatment is mostly non-operative with stretching, and sometimes injections.

What was found: Ask your doctor to have you see a rheumatologist. Aching can occur for other reasons beside arthritis - such as bursitis, tendonitis to name a few. This could be a muscular problem. You need an evaluation and then one can define your problems and decide what to do.
