See your MD for w/u: I assume urine culture & sensitivity done on previous 2 urinary tract infections. This test gives information regarding which bacteria caused the infection & which antibiotics are the best choice. If this was done & you continue to have infections, see your physician for work up to determine why you have repeated UTI;s, May need Renal Ultrasound, urology referral, etc

What can I do to prevent bacterial infections?

Good hygiene: The best way to prevent bacterial infections, or viral infections, is good hygiene. Wash your hand properly and often. Next come nutrition; your immune system works much better if you give it the proper tools to work with. Next comes sleep; not sleeping properly or enough has been shown to weaken the immune system and increase susceptibility to infections.

49 year old with serious nasal congestion, really bad when lying down. Have had this problem for a while?

Seek treatment: Infection can cause congestion as well as bad allergies. There are medicines for both. We have many different medications for severe nasal allergies so see your doctor to know what treatment would be right for you. When you lie down the pressure in the veins of your nasal passages is higher and the congestion is usually worse. That is normal.
