I've had mirena (levonorgestrel) for 6mnths, back pain, brown discharge a few times, and also period like pains on and off ( no bleeding) have my periods stopped?

Probably: It is common for the period to stop with the Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD.

The Mirena IUD now has FDA approval to say it can be used in women w/heavy menstrual periods, because it makes them lighter, in fact, it may make them disappear. Having said that, be sure to check for the string, to be certain it's still there!
