Too much: caffeine or alcohol and not enough other fluids. You need 80-100oz caffeine free/alcohol free fluid every day, more if you do strenuous exercise or do strenuous work raising heart and respiratory rates

2 liters is NOT 80-100 oz per day. That little bit extra will really make a difference but it may take 10-14 days for your system to adjust to the increased water intake and you will see a change in bowel pattern then. Then you must maintain the high input. Also if you add additional fiber instead of fluids you will actually get more constipated. It works but you have to commit to this regimen to
