constant pain and dull ache on outer left calf and behind knee(popliteal area). also, getting spasm on inner calf while at rest. rest not helping?

Probably sprain, or: could be something called a Baker's cyst. An ultrasound would help figure that out. Try ice to area 15 min/hr and take ibuprofen and continue to rest. This should help within a week or so if it is a sprain.
