Cod liver oil vit D: Cod liver oil has omega 3s ,blood thinners so have to check if she is on a blood thinner ,and her creatinne ( measure of kidneys) would not give it unless you checked with her doctor, you do not want bleeding. . Vit D may be Ok in renal disease (would NOT give calcium) as renal patients tend to be low .Check the level before starting talk with doctor before starting

Use with caution: Cod Liver Oil is a good source of essential Omega 3 fats & may have Vit A & D. These should be beneficial but it can lower blood pressure so monitor her BP. There is some recent controversy on the general safety of Cod Liver Oil- see http://tinyurl.com/78t5tz & http://tinyurl.com/nsrzl92 & http://tinyurl.com/nxjclxr Confused? It's probably OK to use but might be better to use fish oil & Vit D3.
