if glasses are so near the eyes so much so that eyelashes touch the glass lens often...does it affect the eyesight /vision in anyway??

No: No, the position of your glasses doesn't adversely affect your eyes, but will alter the proper focus of the light entering through the lenses. Of course it also depends on how strong the prescription is, with extremely high degrees myopia or hyperopia the vertex difference does make a difference. Also the eyelashes do flick moisture onto the lenses altering clarity. You should make sure lenses fit.
