Nighttime urination: Polyuria means producing an excessive amount of urine. A common cause is poorly controlled diabetes. If excessive urine is made during the night (nocturnal), it is called nocturnal polyuria. There are perfectly normal situations when people urinate a lot at night (excessive fluid intake, caffeinated drinks, or alcohol before bedtime, etc).

Salt, swelling: I would worry about fluid accumulation during the day in the legs due to excess sodium intake and vascular insufficiency. During the day the venus blood has to fight gravity to get to the heart and so it takes more pressure to return and the water leaks out of the legs into the tissues. At night, no gravity, more return of blood to the heart with greater delivery to the kidneys-more urine output.
