EE is complicated: Ee is complicated. Many patients will have + tests (some patients are negative). Some patients have benefit with food avoidance. When testing for food allergens we are evaluating for an ige mediated response. Some patients may have food triggering the inflammation in a non-ige mediated way. This would explain why an allergy test could be negative. False + tests are also common with foods.
