CTS: Consider carpal tunel syndrome. The entrapment pathologies cause the hand to hurt. Good luck!

Many causes: This should be evaluated by a physician for a proper assessment. There can be a variety of causes. Certainly nerve conditions may cause this and could be further diagnosed with exam and nerve studies. Other symptoms such as numbness, radiation of pain or numbness and conditions which worsen symptoms should be looked at to help narrow the cause.
