Feed on demand: Feed him on demand. Don't think that by waking him every three hours during the day that he will sleep through the night. He should be able to sleep through the night before too long.

Feeding schedule: In my many years of experience, babies who do not sleep more than 3 hours during the day start sleeping longer at night. Go ahead, there is no harm in trying what you propose. Good luck.

Modified demand: Wake him during the day, preferably after no more than 2.5 hours of sleep.Doing this pushes his deep sleep period to night when you do yours. At night he wakes you up for feeds. If you let a baby define the schedule, they will flip your day night pattern with a single 3-4 hour day nap.If you want him up at night, let him set the schedule.
