Possible: Pain may last for a long time after any injury. Have it evaluated by a professional to make sure that there is nothing out of the ordinary going on.

Yes: Yes, persistent pain at a wound site should be examined. Sometimes an infection can develop in deeper tissues or even in the bone. See your physician.
