what causes could bruising to the ears be my 2 year old woke up with bruising to his ears and cheek ?

First thought/trauma: The only kids i've seen with ear bruising have been traumatized.Either pinched or resulting from a slap , the bruising of trauma is rather distinctive in its location & evident to a er physician or pediatrician. If not, an exam can give you an idea.
