Hookah: A hookah is a water pipe used to smoke tobacco, often flavored. Thought some filtering may be its effect, tobacco still has substances that will damage your lungs. Any smoking is detrimental to your health.

Yes: Smoking is bad for you, particularly with tobacco. There is no evidence that filtering alcohol through water or other fluids/additives is any safer than smoking without it. People who smoke regularly, with hookahs, pipes, cigarettes or whatever (or chewing tobacco for that matter) increase their chances of oral and throat cancers, heart disease and lung problems, and other forms of cancer too.

Hookah is bad.: Per the Mayo Clinic: "smoke contains high levels of toxic compounds, including tar, carbon monoxide, heavy metals and cancer-causing chemicals (carcinogens). In fact, hookah smokers are exposed to more carbon monoxide and smoke than are cigarette smokers." REF: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/quit-smoking/expert-answers/hookah/faq-20057920. Don't recommend Hookah use.
