Nothing great: Best method would have been being born to different parents or as a female. Seriously, rogain shampoo may help, but you can never stop it. Finasteride pills can also help, but have various potential adverse side effects including sexual dysfunction. Transplants/implants help some, but are expensive and sometimes painful. Stopping progression may be possible with medication, but regrowth not.

See a dermatologist: First get a diagnosis. Minoxidil solution applied to scalp is cheap & helps if used daily for years. Oral Finasteride is very safe for men, cheap if generic (get a pill cutter), reduces prostate trouble as well.

Rogaine (minoxidil): Try over the counter rogaine (minoxidil). Studies show a much better response with this drug than the ones you mentioned.
