Sphincter of Oddi: The major presenting symptom in patients with sphincter of oddi dysfunction is abdominal pain. The pain is characteristically sharp, postprandial, and located in the right upper quadrant or epigastrium. The pain may be associated with nausea and/or vomiting, may last for several hours, and may radiate to the back or shoulder blades. Fever, chills, and jaundice are uncommon symptoms.

Neurogenic bladder: "lazy bladder" is just a simple way to explain "neurogenic bladder". When the muscle of the bladder does not contract the way it should it will retain urine. Common in paralyzed patients or in peripheral neuropathies, diseases of the lower spine, neurological disorders, after stroke etc.

If I am unhappy with the barnett continent intestinal reservoir or it doesn't work properly, what are my options?

Change your question: You have asked this question several times and I have tried to re-route it to the proper specialist, but maybe you could re-phrase it to get a better result. Your question is being routed due to a tag for "depression". Try asking "barnett continent intestinal reservoir doesn't work properly, what are my options?" and try to route it to a GI surgeon and hopefully you'll get a response that way.

How do I know if I have a leaky gut?

2 doctor answers5 doctors weighed in
Dr. Gary Gottlieb
Internal Medicine 48 years experience
Not a true diagnosis: Leaky gut is a proposed condition where certain toxins, microbes, or poor diet allows bacteria and toxic molecules to enter the system from inside the colon. It is not a recognized diagnosis by physicians who practice alllopathic medicine. Bacteria can pass through the colon wall in certain serious conditions such as severe colitis or toxic megacolon, and most of these patients are hospitalized.
Dr. Jill Carnahan

The latest research in gastroenterology by Dr Fassano not only acknowledges the presence of leaky gut (intestinal hyper permeability syndrome) but talks about how the prevalence is much greater than suspected and how it may be linked to most autoimmune diseases. Manifestations of leaky gut include many, eczema, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple food allergies.

What causes leaky gut?

Inflammation: I suspect you mean "leaky" intestinal mucosal barrier in which permeability increases. It is most commonly seen in episodes of sirs (systemic immune response syndrome) or with ibd. Unfortunately it is also a syndrome claimed by many non-medical professionals to be the cause of a variety of illnesses (for which they sell you a cure $$ ).

What's rectal prolapse effect on moving bowels?

Dr. Scott Beard

None usually: Rectal prolapse is where the rectum falls through the anus. Sometimes it results from constipation. A rectocele is a bulge from the vagina and stool can get stuck in it.
