Real, healthy food.: Supplements market to weightlifters are not regulated by the fda, are not tested like medicines, and are at best mostly useless, and at worst dangerous. A balanced diet of fruits and veg, lean protein, whole grains, and low-fat dairy will more for you than anything else. If you are trying to gain muscle, about 1.5-2.5 g/kg lean protein body weight is optimum.

as an addendum, in the spirit of disclosure, when I have a hard time getting enough protein because of my schedule I will supplement with whey protein powder. But be sure, if you buy it, if comes from a reputable source.

The simple stuff: A protein supplement (one of the powders -- get the widely-available stuff from the pharmacy or big store) and creatine. The other stuff -- especially the weird concoctions -- will just decrease the mass of your bank account.

You need work at-: -a gym,use machines or free weights, & if your protein intake is poor, possibility is to supplement with whey protein. You need 50gms of protein just daily intake. Consider all your sources of protein, and supplement your protein intake on your exercise days. Always have a day off in between for recovery, & do cardio on those days.
