All natural: Some believe that an ingredient called "hydroquinone" is the only thing that really works well, but other feel that there is a side effect risk that could make it unsafe. There are natural products available to fade dark skin, with no risk. I offer one called "brighten" at balshimd.Com.

Hydroquinone, Lytera: Any product with 4% hydroquinone works well. Hydroquinone both lightens and smoothes out pigment by affecting the melanocytes (pigment cells). Skin medica has recently come out with a product called lytera, that lightens without using hydroquinone. No other products will make much of a difference.
