i had double pneumonia and a dr. told me my lung would never heal.from that is that true?

Dr. Lokesh Guglani
20 years experience Pediatric Pulmonology
Depends: It depends on the fact that if you had any complications due to your pneumonia such as lung abscess, empyema or cavity formation due to necrotizing pneumonia etc. Most patients with pneumonia slowly heal & their chest xray may take 6-8 weeks to show improvement. Evaluation by a pulmonologist may help clarify things for you.
