Complicated: Bird influenza is rare and human to human transmission does not seem to occur as effectively as with other strains (serotypes). It does have a higher mortality rate among the relatively few persons who have unfortunately been documented to be infected. Symptoms of influenza can be diverse, as can the complications and include fever, chills, aches, GI symptoms, cough, etc.
