Yes: But not the only cause. The loss of blood witth menstruation causes an obligate loss of iron. Iron deficiancy results in a specific type of anemia. Tthere are other vitamin deciencies and medical issues that cause anemia as well. A few simple blood tests can sort this out. See your physician.

Dr. Scott Bolhack answered

B12 Deficiency: There are several things that happen with a B12 deficiency including anemia, neuropathies, and non-soecific neurological affects such as fatigue, depression, irritability, and psychosis. Clinically, patients are diagnosed with B12 deficiency through anemia first but with current testing practices many patients are discovered to have low levels without ever being anemic.

Is there a way to treat anaemia that we can do at home?

Dr. Keith Stockerl-Goldstein answered

Cause of anemia: First the cause of the anemia needs to be determined by your physician. Some anemias are due to lack of vitamins or iron and can be treated with supplements. But there are many other common causes of anemia that need specific therapies that are not 'home remedies.'.
