See below: "swine flu" viruses do not normally infect humans, but human infections with "swine flu" have occurred. These viruses are called “variant viruses.” both swine and regular flu have similar clinical symptoms. Depending on local resources, some labs have ability to test for non-human influenza viruses. Oseltamivir or zanamivir can be used for treatment.

Yes: The flu is spread from person to person through microscopic droplets expelled during coughing or sneezing, or if you inadvertently touch a surface or an object covered with those droplets. As such, people in close contact with a sick individual are more likely to get the flu. This includes babies and infants in daycare centers and older children in school, and t heir family members.

When fever is gone: You can usually return to work when your fever is gone and you are able to eat and drink and get your strength back. Recovery time may be longer for people with lung disease or diabetes.

Define "flu": The everyday "common" flu is not dangerous. The influenza flu, which we can get vaccinated for, can be serious to the elderly, infants, and those who are immune compromised (i.e. Chemotherapy patients, etc.). It is estimated that there are approximately 30, 000 deaths per year due to the influenza flu.
