Insomnia: There r many medication patient can use for insomnia . But they can be habit forming and if u take them on daily basis , u can get addicted to it and u need to keep raising the dose. Treatment for insomnia : sleep hygiene going to bed at certain time and walking up at certain time, exercising before 4 pm, not taking any caffeinated product after five pm and sleeping medications to be taken prn.

Symptoms of hi PRL: Hi. The common symptoms of high prolactin (PRL) are cessation of periods and breast milk. At age 47, you might have assumed menopause, but breast milk is not normal unless you're breast feeding. Headache sometimes. Insomnia not so common, so may or may not be related to hyperprolactinemia. Melatonin is fine and safe. I hope you've had your pituitary MRI. You'll hopefully start cabergoline soon.

Yes: Part of what keeps you up at night is the joint pain. During pregnancy your joints all are loosened from hormones. The hips can be especially effected. A pillow between the knees can help relieve the joint stress.

Melatonin: It depends on the degree of renal dysfunction. Melatonin does not cause direct renal damage in most cases. However i would use the lowest dose possible when taking otc medicines.

Melatonin: Melatonin feeds the system in regards to pineal glad. Melatonin is the "anti light hormone" so when our body should be preparing for sleep at night, melatonin is secreted telling us to prepare for sleep. What it is not is a sleep aid. Taking supplemental melatonin can be helpful if we are relatively difficient or are trying to iatrogenically adjust our rhythm (shift work, jet lag, etc).
