Low carb: A higher protein, low carb diet is best but there are several important parts. First, eat lots of low carb vegetables, if you get over 50% of your food as vegetables, you'll lose weight. Second, never skip a meal, you don't respond to Insulin so you need to keep your blood sugar stable throughout the day, that helps your body not feel like its starving. Hope that helps.

A steady one: first, you can't be without any food and on diabetic medications due to risk of sugar going low. But you have to lower total calories. Avoid sugar of course, and have fiber. depends a lot on what made you overweight. you might find this amusing...https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1775472781/devils-diet and perhaps helpful
