Trigger Finger: If you have a catching sensation in your palm with 1 or 2 fingers it may be trigger finger. This is often improved with a corticosteroid injection. Arthritis is another posibility with your history of trauma to the area.

Xray: The only way to tell if a finger or hand is broken is to get an xray. I have seen patients who are very swollen and painfull that don't have a fracture and patients who have very little pain that do have a fracture. Most fractures a easily treated if caught early. See a hand surgeon and get an xray.

See your doctor: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person. He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.
