Two things: You can have bands (immature neutrophils or acute inflammatory cells) in the CSF from blood contamination or acute inflammation in the CSF from diseases such as meningitis.

Many: It depends on what the spinal tap is being done for. If it's to see if there is meningitis, than cultures are done as well as analyzing the cells and even rapid bacterial testing kind of like strep testing.
If it's for multiple sclerosis or other neurological conditons, than completely different studies are done.
If the person is HIV (+) than even different studies are done.

Csf: If you have CSF rhinorrhea you should see a neurosurgeon or specializzed ENT asap. No homeopathic medicine helps this.
