Every 4 to 6 months: Psa should go down after orchiectomy for prostate cancer. If the cancer is hormone sensitive, there should be a rapid drop within a few weeks. That response might tell how long a patient could expect to live, but that depends on prior treatment and the extent of cancer spread. The overall health of the patient is very important as well.
