X-ray: Sorry - can't answer that. You will need x-rays and a medical assessment to determine if there is a fracture.

If the big knuckle: Has disappeared it may I do ate angulation or shortening in a metacarpal fracture . An exam followed by an x-ray is needed. If there is too much angulation or shortening depending upon which finger metacarpal and where the injury is related to the knuckle a closed reduction by manipulation or an open reduction with pins or plates or screws at be indicated.
