is my hand broken or dislocated? the knuckle joint has disappeared and it's been very swollen for 3 days. can bend it closed but not straight

Fracture?: First step is to have it looked at & x-rayed.

If the big knuckle: Has disappeared it may I do ate angulation or shortening in a metacarpal fracture . An exam followed by an x-ray is needed. If there is too much angulation or shortening depending upon which finger metacarpal and where the injury is related to the knuckle a closed reduction by manipulation or an open reduction with pins or plates or screws at be indicated.
