Complicated: Complicated symptoms like these are best discussed with your doctor who will listen to you, give you an examination, and probably do some testing to see what's wrong.

Doctor wrong?: Eat only meat or fish or cheese or eggs or poultry and low starch veggies, drink only water. In other words avoid all carbs, carbs will only briefly raise your sugar levels and then your Insulin levels. The fats in the meat or fish or cheese or eggs or poultry will act like a "log on your metabolic fire" to keep your blood sugar stable for hours without raising insulin.

Have less lows: I assume u have diabetes & r on meds. When patients have frequent low sugars, they stop getting warning signs - palpitations, sweating, tremors- &don't have symptoms until their sugar is dangerously low, then get confused and pass out. By letting the sugars run a little high for a while, the hypoglycemic awareness comes back. Also consider a continuous glucose sensor. Make sure ur meter is right.

Yes: The more knowledgeable one becomes about all the factors that affect the blood sugar, the more successful they are likely to be in keeping the blood sugar in the target range.

What did you eat?: If your blood sugar is confirmed low within a few hours of a meal, it often suggests that a high sugar or starchy meal was ingested without protein. It is commonly seen in the teenage girl who only eats chips and sugared soda for lunch and in people with Insulin resistance who may have diabetes or prediabetes. Also ifpatients take too much Insulin or don't eat enough protein after taking insulin.

How can I tell if my blood sugar low or high?

Try drinking juice: I assume you have symptoms (? feeling weak or dizzy) which you worry are related to your blood sugar. If the problem is low sugar then drinking 6-8 oz juice should relieve symptoms in 10-15 min. For high sugar the most common symptoms are drinking and urinating more than usual. You could purchase a BG meter and test strips if you want to be sure or borrow a friend or relative's, or see a doctor
