A 47-year-old member asked:

would it be a good idea to use lemon on acne marks while using epiduo at night and aloe vera for the scars?

May not help: Lemon can cause a rash sometimes if you go into the sunlight, and likely will not fade the scars; it may inactivate the epiduo, also. Use an oil-free sunscreen instead, with a hat; scars eventually fade by themselves, and you can get help from your doctor if they do not.

A 26-year-old member asked:

I am now 28 weeks pregnant and I had some bleeding, and the placenta is stuck over the scar. What does this mean?

Placenta accreta: It sounds like placenta accreta. Women who have had a c/s or other previous uterine surgery are at increased risk for the placenta growing into the uterine muscle layer if it implants over the scar. Most women don't get bleeding from this during pregnancy. The main risks of an accreta are heavy bleeding at the time of delivery of the placenta or inability to deliver it, requiring a hysterectomy.

Either: Either may help with symptoms. Hydrocortisone cream which is available over-the-counter may both relieve the symptoms and help get rid of the rash. Antihistamines like claritin, zyrtec and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will also help for both.

How long does it take retin-a micro to clear acne scars?

See below: Retin-a mirco does not treat acne scarring. It can help prevent new acne scars by preventing serious breakout as part of an acne treatment regimen. Some patients (especially those with darker skin tones) can develop dark spots from acne lesions. These are not actually scars and Retin-A can help improve them over the course of many months.

A 44-year-old female asked:

Why do I get bloody noses so often? Always right nostril, often at night. Twice this week. Summer & winter. No pain, just wake up bleeding.

Deviated septum: There are many reasons for bloody nose: dry nasal passages (increase in winter); allergies; picking. If you are an adult and have persistent nose bleeds on one side, you may have a deviated septum that is causing the air coming in to deflect at a certain point and cause excessive drying of the mucosa. No matter, if it is occurring this frequently, have it checked by your local ent.
