Well, actually: The normal state of things is an imbalance. The ovaries produce hormones when ovulating, that vary in amounts and result in a menstrual cycle. You may not be ovulating, thus told hormone imbalance. If so, consider trying metformin if it's pcos. Look up poly cystic ovarian syndrome and see if that fits you. Good luck, many people have this and there are treatments.

Different Ways: There is really no such thing as a hormone imbalance. There are many different hormones system in your body. So one of them needs to be functioning too much, too little, or in an unusual way to have an "imbalance." then you would treat the underlying problem.

Diagnose and treat: Diagnose and treat the underlying cause: thyroid disease is treated with thyroid medication, etc..There are no 'non-specific' hormonal imbalances.
