Surgical aid: Gtr is a procedure used to stimulate bone and gum tissue growth when done in combination with flap surgery. A small piece of mesh-like fabric is inserted between the bone and gum tissue. This keeps the gum tissue from growing into the area where the bone should be, allowing the bone and connective tissue to regrow and restore lost bone.

GTR: When tooth required bone grafting, gtr is a process of using a membrane barrier to contain the graft and prevent the epithelial migration into the graft to allow for selectively guide the growth of bone and tooth attachment (bone, cementum, periodontal ligament). Gtr is done to enhance regeneration of bone, cementum, and pdl instead of repair (connective tissue and long junctional epithelium).

Not especially: What was done or what is your situation that caused the inflamed gum tissue? Knowing that would help us answer your question more completely and accurately. One of the best ways to help things heal in general is to keep them clean, eat a healthy diet, avoid further irritation and get sufficient rest. If you have had recent dental treatment, ask your dentist for more specific advice.

Gum lesions?: Depending on the clinical picture, gums can "peel" or slough off due to gum disease, trauma, viral, bacteria or other miscellaneous causes. You would need to see a laser periodontist for a complete evaluation. The nd/yag laser can sometimes help in a big way in these situations. www.drgums.com.

Varies: After an extraction the area will granulate in with tissue that looks sorta whitish grey. Once a blood supply is established, the tissue will begin to look more pink. No worries ! keep smiling !
