Compresion: Compression stockings are the most effective way to help bulging veins. Well fitting graduated compression not only helps the symptoms but also temporarily improves circulation.

There are none.: Although i agree with dr. Wright that use of compression stockings is a way to be able to treat the symptoms that are often associated with varicose veins, i wouldn't call using them "natural." if you are looking for a supplement, diet, or exercise that will help, there are none.

None that works.: Varicose veins are due to leaking valves in the saphenous vein system. There is a strong hereditary component. There are many potential home remedies such as horse chestnut, witch hazel and certain kinds of berries but none of these work. If you have varicose veins, then you should see a vein specialist for a f/u venous evaluation including a venous ultrasound.

What can I do with bulging veins on my calves?

Maybe nothing: Often, bulging veins in your calves are completely normal, especially if you are slender and exercise frequently. On the other hand, bulging veins can be a sign that you have underlying vein trouble that you can't see, even if your veins don't hurt. An ultrasound evaluation of your veins will tell you what is going on. I would see a vein specialist for a check up and treatment if indicated.

Enlarged: Bulging veins are enlarged . This occurs often through exercise or exertion. Or in disease states when they become dilated due to insufficiency or back flow [ eg varicose veins are the result of venous insufficiency] or overloaded from increased flow [much less common]. Sometime veins may only appear to bulge when people are have low body fat or vein high muscle tone.

Veins: Are these on your legs? You are young to have varicose veins, but they surely can be painful. Especially during the menstrual cycle for many women. These can be treated with either laser or "stripping". Compression stockings help quite a bit with symptoms and to prevent worsening of them. Also, avoid standing for long periods, and try not to sit with legs crossed.
