A 26-year-old female asked:

does facial steaming good for oily skin?

Facial steaming: May open pores to ease removal of makeup & dirt, but if too hot or used too often may strip skin of natural oils; dry skin triggers production of more oil. Washing face gently twice a day with mild moisturizing soap (dove/ tone/caress or lubriderm) & warm water & patting dry may work better (rough toweling can trigger release of more oil).

Oily skin on face: Oily skin - may use frequent but gentle washes. Some times Retin A/ Retinoids can bring balance to skin. They come in different strengths. Your dermatologist can assess to develop a regimen that is specifically tailored for you.
