Rectocele: Technically rectal prolapse is defined as when all the layers of the rectum come out beyond the anal verge, what you describe sounds more like a rectocele. Usually a colon and rectal surgeon will work this up with a voiding proctogram, and depending on findings may refer you for biofeedback to re teach you to relax your pelvic floor muscles.
