how long does it take to get over the flu after being treated?

Dr. Michael Ein
47 years experience Infectious Disease
2-5 days: Influenza treatment is 5 days of tamiflu or relenza (zanamivir). Influenza usually lasts 7-10 days so you should be better 2 to 5 days after completing treatment. A dry cough may persist for several weeks, worse at night.
