iv in crook of elbow, very painful, how long do i wait to back to the hospital? i just got put in today. i can't sleep :(

Not sure of the q?: It sounds like you're saying that you have an IV and then aren't in the hospital? Typically we don't send people home with ivs in place. You might want to take another stab at this question with a bit more specifics. Thanks!

Now: Obviously there is a problem with your IV site or placement. You may be developing phlebitis.
