Could be.: The chest has a lot of moving parts and joints. Sounds like you are moving your ribs against some of the other bones and cartilage. Some people can do this.

Subluxation of rib: A laxity of your costo-chondral joint maybe responsible. Though painful early on, many times resolves spontaneously with NSAID therapy.
