Possible Infection: Hairy tongue occurs due to lack of stimulation / abrasion to the top of the tongue. The result is a buildup of a protein known as keratin. This buildup can get infected, it can also pick up stains, giving it an array of different colors. See your physician for a differential diagnosis and treatment if necessary. Feel better soon.

What did you eat?: Did you eat something orange 4 days ago? If yes, try brushing your tongue with your tooth brush or you can purchase a tongue scraper. If it is still present please see your dentist or an ear, nose and throat doctor.
