At present the majority of genetic knowledge can help identify the "risk" associated with various diseases, but doesn't impact medical management. While clinical genetics impacts potential therapy of a particular disease treatment.

The mechanism may be found, which then opens a window to the discovery of new treatments and even prevention, as well as informing family who may be at risk. We have just begun to cure Gaucher disease and have a huge impact on more common disorders.
