Iron levels are 11. 27 weeks pregnant. prenatals have 45mg of iron. do i need a supplement? if so, what brand is good?

Yes: How is your ferritin? Yes, you will need to get iron supplement. Any otc brand is good as long as you can tolerate it . Take it at least twice a day- i fyou can. Take it in the morning , empy stomach and drink it with orange juice to increase absorption of the iron. Please discuss with your OB in detail. Also increase food that is rich in iron.
