Stop & think: You are an emotional eater. When you feel sad or discouraged, try a fun activity instead of eating. Take a walk, a nap, read a magazine, or call a friend. Or, you can choose a healthy comfort food, like fruits and vegetables. Recognize when you are eating because you are hungry or because you are bored or sad. If you are not actually hungry, drink some water and try these other options.

First understand that binge eating is a mechanism to deal with stress. Remember that stress is the individual's response to what is going on. It may be depression, too little work, too much work, relationship problems, money problems, personal or family illness, etc. secondly, eat 4 to 6 times daily at specified times. Eat smaller portions. Find a second way to deal with stress.

Do you mean Common?: Binge eating can become extremely abnormal. Many folks will overeat at times but not routinely. Thanksgiving, christmas and new years are examples. Red flags fly when we have daily fears of gaining weight, eat too little, cave in and eat too much. Binging guilt leads to purging - forced vomiting or laxatives. Hiding binge food, solitary binging, pretend eating meals are serious binge eating signs.

FMany helps: Seek new activities and keep busy. When getting hungry, get up, get out and get busy! drink a glass of water or non-caloric beverage. Get excess foods out of the house and keep only healthy snacks available that are low in calories and high in volume. Learn relaxation techniques, stress relieving activities, seek counselling, get an accountability partner and eat at the table only. U can do!
