A female asked:

can homeopathic doctors provide abortions? are homeopathic doctors able to provide abortions that are just as safe as regular doctors?

Not generally: Only 3 states in the US have homeopathic medical licensure: AZ, NV, and CT. Physicians may be dually licensed in these states, meaning they may also have conventional MD or DO licensure. Laws regulating who can perform abortion procedures -- and under what medical licensure board -- vary by state. If electing abortion, make sure your doctor is experienced and licensed to do this procedure.

A 42-year-old member asked:

Politicians say the pill works by causing abortions. Is that true?

No: The pill primarily works by preventing ovulation so that an embryo never forms. It also works by thickening cervical mucous making it hostile to sperm so even if an ovulation occurred, the sperm could not reach the egg to fertilize it. By preventing unwanted or unhealthy pregnancies, the pill helps to prevent abortion.

Can you have two abortions in one month ?

Not possible: After a pregnancy loss, the uterus/ovaries will take time to "recover", making another pregnancy not possible for a brief period of time. If a D&C is performed for a pregnancy, there may at times be the need for a second procedure shortly thereafter of there were any pregnancy components that remained in the uterus. That's the only way to "repeat" a procedure the sane month.

Abortions: With each abortion is the risk of causing scar tissue in your uterus. If you have scarring, it can make it difficult to get pregnant in the future.
A 30-year-old member asked:

I know they were illegal during the 50's, but are abortions still undergone today in all countries?

Dr. Jane Van Dis

Yes: Many countries outlaw abortion. Women still have them even when they are outlawed, they are just more likely to die from an illegal abortion. Abortion rates, in fact, can be higher in countries where they are illegal because women typically don't have good access to birth control in those countries.

Medical abortions: In early pregnancy you can be given a combination of medication which can cause an abortion, after administration, while you are at home. If this is a procedure you are interested in, you should see a doctor early, because it works best in very early pregnancy.
