Yes and No: They can clog with persistant drainage after the procedure or if there is an infection after placement. This can be treated with antibiotic drops - sometimes they need to be suctioned in the clinic under the microscope.

Ear tubes: Yes but not that easily, in my experience. It will depend on the thickness of the middle ear fluid. Most ear fluids drain as easily as that from a runny nose.
