Scabies : Scabies is usually contracted by prolonged direct skin to skin contact with another person who has scabies. A hug or handshake is usually not enough contact to catch it. It is frequently sexually transmitted in adults, but doesn't have to be. Sometimes, it is can also spread by sharing clothing, towels or sheets. Yes: You can get it anywhere where the mites are present. You should have your friend checked out as well.
