does a panniculectomy remove fat as well as skin? i have a grade 2 abdominal panniculus. i am having a panniculectomy in two months and was wondering if this procedure removes fat as well as skin, or if it mainly just removes the skin. can i expect any we

Removes : Removes full thickness tissue to the lever of fascia. If the fascia is loose it may be reinforced. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Yes both are removed: An abdominal panniculectomy removes both excess skin and fat from the abdomen. The fat removed is between the skin and abdominal muscles, but not fat deep to the tummy muscles. Sometimes liposuction may be added to contour the abdomen as well.
