random bump on right side if the neck, my bf has a history of knots in shoulders n back, could the bump be related?.. it's round n hurts

Lymph node: Location and shape mean it is likely an enlarged lymph node. This is usually from an infection, viral commonly although it may be bacterial. Keep an eye on it, should go down over next week or so. If it doesn't, or if you start getting fever please get checked by your doctor.
