See below: These are always tough questions and need to be discussed with her OB and surgeon. In capable hands, laparascopic cholecystectomy in the middle trimester (about where she is now) should be safe. If the symptoms are mild, they may elect to follow her closely through the preganancy and remove the gb postpartum, but this may be associated with recurrent symptoms and worse outcome.

Gallbladder pregnant: Gallbladder problems during pregnancy are very common. Usually we do not recommend elective(not urgent) surgery during pregnancy. If symptoms are tolerable one would wait until after delivery to perform surgery. However if symptoms are severe or one develops complication from gallbladder disease(pancreatitis, cholangitis or cholecystitis) then the best time to perform surgery is 2nd trimester.

Surgery. : If surgery is performed in pregnancy, 18 weeks would be the optimum time. Talk to your surgeon and obstetrician.
