Lab techniques: Ivf works by adding sperm to eggs in the laboratory to produce embryos that are transferred into the uterus. Ivf bypasses the problems that can interfere with conception, problems with ovulation, fertilization, and implantation.

See below: There are three type ivfs, 1. Conventional ivf, 2. Minimal stimulation ivf, 3. Natural cycle ivf. In general, doctor will start mediation on cycle day 3 to stimulate ovaries to grow more follicles, after 8-10 days, doctor will perform ultrasound guided egg collection. The egg will be fertilized in the lab with your partner's sperm. The embryo will then be transfer back to the women'uterus.

Simple: Sometimes ivf sounds complicated but it is very simple. We want to see as many of your eggs as possible in a safe way to use the best ones for you. Injections allow us to get several eggs. The we make sure the sperm gets inside the eggs and that is done in the lab. And then we grew the embryo (early pregnancy) usually for 5 days and then easily place it back inside your body.

Impossible: That would be impossible. In Vitro Fertilization means "In Glass Fertilization" essentially making a baby in a petridish (which used to be glass). How you could remove the eggs from your body and then separate the sperm to fertilize the eggs would be impossible in a DIY method. You may be asking about DIY Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

What is in vitro fertilization?

IVF: In-vitro fertilization is the most advanced art (assisted reproductive technology) for helping women become pregnant. What is unique about ivf is the woman's oocytes (eggs) are removed from her body to be fertilized in the laboratory with male partner's sperm. Resulting embryos are placed back in her uterus a few days later.
