Salt or baking soda: Here are 3 home remedies which may help alleviate discomfort: 1) mix 1 tspn of salt with warm water and swish for 1 minute several times a day. The salt water helps dry out the sore. 2) alternatively, substitute baking soda for the salt in options 1. 3) if the sore is very painful, use liquid antacid and swish in mouth for 3-5 minutes and then spit. The antacid helps coat the sore.
